McCain Sez: “Adolf from isolation DERR”

Filed under: Uncategorized — robsabby @ 11:04 pm

John McCain last night in the CNN youtube debate showed us why he failed middle school history in front of the entire nation. Pretty much, he tried to say that Ron Paul’s foreign policy of “isolationism” (um, you’re the isolationist McCain) gave to the rise of Adolf Hitler and our involvement in WWII. I am not going to spend a whole mess of time on this, but any with any knowledge on the subject would know that WWI gave rise to Hitler (a BS war from the get go, and our involvement even more so), also with the isolationist trade policies we had in place with Germany along with the rest of Europe. Adolf Hitler based his run for leader on revitalizing the economy and going back to being a sovereign nation that wouldn’t be bullied.

Also, lets not forget the VERY obvious example of how we got into WWII. The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. It was a terrible day, but it was blowback from the interventionist trade policies we ordered the Japanese to obey.

John McCain – read a fucking book

The Success of Regime Change in Afghanistan

Filed under: News — robsabby @ 11:55 pm

Link

More than half of Afghanistan is back under Taliban control and the Nato force in the country needs to be doubled in size to cope with the resurgent group, a report by the Senlis Council think-tank says. A study by the group found that the Taliban, enriched by illicit profits from the country’s record poppy harvest, had formed de-facto governments in swathes of the southern Pashtun belt.

The Afghan government and its Nato allies strongly deny the Senlis version of what is taking place in the country and say the extent of alleged Taliban control – 54 per cent – is a major exaggeration. In particular, British troops in Helmand have, in recent months, recovered territory lost to the Islamist group.

But senior defence sources say that a lack of frontline combat forces has meant that areas clawed back from the Taliban often cannot be held and have to be retaken after costly and fierce fighting. There is also an acknowledgement that the dangers on the ground have meant that aid efforts are being stymied.

I personally would like to see more numbers come in from different groups, but it is of no suprise that the Afghan “government” would deny it. It is undeniable that the Taliban still have a vast influence on the Afghan people, 54% or not. I guess maybe if we wanted regime change so bad we shouldn’t have cut and run from Afghanistan and rely on war lords to do most of our ground fighting (we needed to save those guys for Iraq obviously) which has led to the escape of Osama Bin Laden and the resurgence of the Taliban. Go Bush!

My name is Marc Whittemore. I started the original grassroots group ObamaLA and carried it until it was 2,500 people strong. Having done substancially more homework now I am inclined to switch my vote.

Make no mistake about it — I think Obama would make an AWESOME President — far better than any other stale “part of the problem” Democrat running. However. In case you have not noticed America is picking up “flush momentum” and going down the tubes FAST. We no longer have time for rehersals or inexperience. We MUST get it right and get it right this time. We don’t even have the luxury of voting along party lines if we are to get it right.

And so. Even more surprising is that for the first time in my 32 years of voting I will be voting for a Republican president. And that Republican is Ron Paul. Listen people. And take the time to listen CLOSELY to Ron Paul — because, like the last, we can ill afford one more drastic idiot mistake in the White House. Lives depend on making the right choice — indeed our entire nation depends on the right choice this time.

Sincerely,
Marc Whittemore

Just some of the fallout of what is to come.

My State Does Something Decent

Filed under: News — robsabby @ 10:58 pm

Our Supreme Court struck down some absurd child pedo law that said that no sex offender (even after suffering the consequences) can live 1000 feet from any public service that children would use (be it bus stops, houses, schools, churches etc..).

Look, I am no pedo defender here, far from it. If anything, I am probably one of the most ardent opponents of child sex (I like To Catch a Predator, imagine that). Personally I didn’t even know this law existed, but I fail to see how this would do anything other than aggravate child predators, or worse make them homeless on the streets.
